Save energy by drying PE film with a RUNI Screw Compactor

During the production of recycled plastic from PE film, the cut-up film is washed thoroughly and then dried. Traditionally, the drying process is carried out using hot air, centrifuging and agglomerating.

However, a considerable amount of this energy-demanding drying process can be replaced by squeezing the water out of the wet PE foil using a  RUNI Screw Compactor.

The compacting process increases the dry matter content from 60 % to 90 % at a low energy consumption of only 24 kW per 1,000 kg PE film.

The process is also quicker, so it increases capacity, and in addition to energy savings, the  RUNI Screw Compactor means less wear and tear and less maintenance for the centrifuge.

The RUNI Screw Compactor has been developed to operate on a fully automatic production line, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Meet a customer....

"We got 20-30% more production as we had before RUNI. Even now this month will be my best month in this company because of it." Informs Mr. Egidijus Gylys, Manager of Production at UAB Tikritus, Lithuania.

The Runi SK370 was installed in  early May 2010. In August  2010 Mr. Gylys continues:

"Last month we made 1.5 more production than our best month ever. If normally, it is almost twice more with no rush. And everything was made without any heater, only RUNI. If we take electricity - we still have to pay same money, but with same electricity we made twice the production, and the material has less water in it comparing with two heaters which we had before RUNI."
