Brewers and other producers of drinks in PET bottles destroy goods returned because of production faults, or because they are past their sell-by dates, in order to prevent them from being resold in error.
RUNI Screw Compactors deal with destruction, emptying and compacting in one process, saving both storage and handling costs for the producer. Locating the compactor close to the production facility ensures greater destruction security and saves transport costs by avoiding unnecessary transport of the full bottles.
RUNI has developed three systems for PET bottles:
- SK240 PET (maximum bottle size 0.5 l) with a capacity of up to 3,000 0.5 litre bottles per hour
- SK370 PET (maximum bottle size 3.0 l) with a capacity of up to 12,000 0.5 litre bottles per hour or 5,000 1.5 litre bottles per hour
- SK370 PET/ALU, which has been designed with two feed hoppers for PET bottles and ALU cans respectively
